Goodday to you, sir. Pleased to make yer acquaintance. I sure hope you like reading lots and lots of lists of lists.

I'm grungerabbit, aka Cheryl Wu. I'm a silly girl, 16 & mixed about it.

I really enjoy contradictory extremes; average things, not so much. I survive on technology, constantly playing music, crappy analogies, and way too much food.

You'll find me in most settings staring at an iProduct. [It's pretty bad.]

I'll be starting (but not finishing) projects, snarking, artsin' it up, learning useless stuff, or getting sucked into internet wormholes. Oh, and writing really long copy.

Besides technology, I like getting lost in the city, going to concerts and other live entertainment, butchering languages, obsessing, staying up too late, having time to be aimless, objectifying males, thrifting, shopping, critiquing, planning nothing, and identifying typography in the real world.

Yeah gurrrrl, coding is my jam. Or kinda, at least.

I have around 7 years' experience with CSS and HTML. I can also understand, modify, and write really basic Javascript and PHP. [I'll be teaching myself those languages next year though!] So I'm not exactly an intense coder.

gr.com was designed, coded, and written by me. [Except for the gallery backend.] I'm the frontend/graphic designer in a web design and development entrepreneurship that I co-founded with my friend Charles. He's the developer. We're GREEDYTREES. Hire us!

I was born with art supplies in my tiny fetal flippers.

I wasn't really interested in art until 4th or 5th grade. In 6th grade the passion exploded, and with interest blossoms talent, develops skill. Y'know the deal.

I like a lot of media on paper, especially inks, watercolor, color pencil, markers, and cheap Crayola crayons. With computers, I use Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for different things. I draw with a cute little Bamboo Fun, super classy.

I mostly draw representatively, even when stylized. My style is grungy and I love bright colors, especially yellow. [My favorite color is purple though.]

The subjects I draw the most are people, cities, flowers, kisses, apocalypses, body parts, fish, and milk cartons. You explain it. Go look for yourself, and report back.

I have no idea what I want to do with my future.

I should probably survive high school first. But I don't know what I want to do afterwards, besides being really rich and famous and own a restaurant called Food with my best friend wherein we serve dishes named after all the people we've ever known in our lives, ever. [I've got that part worked out already.]

I think I have a cawlidge list, but I don't know if they're good matches.

I want to be a designer, but I need to figure out whether I want to design real life, tangible things [fashion, industrial, environmental] or virtual/print things [graphics, web, illustrator]...

If you have any insight, please tell me! Tweet @grungerabbit, mayhaps?

Résumé?

These are a few of my favorite material possessions, preferences, interests, and/or quiiiiirks!

That's not nearly as catchy.

»Music!

Some people have music ADD, I have music fixations.

My favorite band is Elle Milano and my favorite musician their frontman, Adam M. Crisp. I'm pretty obsessed with his voice, lyrics, melodies, everything. Second is Nirvana and Kurt Cobain. In my younger days (hah) I spent almost two years listening to Nirvana and nothing else. It was cray-cray.

I adore Lady Gaga. Love love love her. I listen to her non-ironically. I admire her vision, her style, and her message. We share similar interests and I'd love to be part of her production team.

»Fashion!

I'm also obsessed with Christian Dior. Galliano is brilliant.

But I prefer Dior Homme under the direction of Hedi Slimane. Absolutely impeccable. [Monster Ball cover = Hedi + Gaga = best ever]

As for things I actually wear, the majority of my wardrobe is from thrift stores. I think most lifestyle brands geared towards the upper-middle class are contrived and artless. Prep or [failed by definition] hipster! 500% markup! Go go go!

I dress by color, pattern, texture, and whatever I happen to see first in the morning.

»Art world!

I'm not incredibly well informed about art. Some "famous" fine artists I really like are Magritte, Rauschenberg, and Haring. I'll add to this list as I think of people.

I tend to think a lot of contemporary modern art is bullshit. Conceptual works only if you can convey a message, or even offer an aesthetically pleasing form. I guess this is why I prefer design.

[This is probably because I once saw the word "Atmosphere", set in white Arial type on a plain grey-blue background, projected on a wall and passed off as art. Bullshit. Gurrrrl, if the average 2nd grader can do that in Powerpoint, it's not art.]

»Other!

I carry around a copy of Twilight everywhere I go. It's really useful.

Sketchbook, scheduler, super flammable material. Toilet paper, one time. You heard me.
